The Walking Dead Review

Why is this series so awesome?

Well first of all, it's got Zombies in it something that can only be matched by dragons and boobies.
But what makes this series so much different from all the other zombie movies out there, isn't only the fact that it's a TV-Show something that isn't common for Zombie cinema. It's the way it's presented, usually when you watch a Zombie film it's filled with hordes of undead being slaughtered one by one by some dude with a machine gun. But in The Walking Dead it's all about the setting, instead of the repeating violence they show you how these survivors are living and what horrors they are going through, don't get me wrong there is plenty of brain splattering action too. The show makes great for watching with a friend or two, when i saw episode one with my buddy, we were constantly commenting on the things happening in the episode, discussing what we would do in a situation like that, and how horrible it would be to step in those peoples shoes. Very entertaining! So i definitely recommend that you watch this, but be warned it's not for the faint of heart there is plenty of organs, headshots and blood splatter. Enjoy!

A new minecraft mob - Endermen

Notch knows a thing or two about horror

With the adventure update, hopefully around the corner, yet another feature have been revealed.

A few days ago notch posted this picture on his google + page

The above photo with enhanced brightness
So Notch was sitting doing some code for the NCP villages and got bored so he decided to create a new mob.

These Endermen as they are called, are partly passive mobs, they will be walking around moving blocks, and acting creepy, but if you stare directly at them (crosshair on them) they will stare directly at you, and as soon as you look away they will charge at you with very high speed. If they are too far away they will teleport towards you.

Very interesting idea i can't wait to try it out with all the other new features

Battlefield 3 console cuts: it will be better for PC gamers

The inevitable cut has to be made concerning a games graphics when it's being transferred from PC to consoles

In game footage
As we all know, Battlefield 3 is a beautiful game, and we have been told that it will also feature the biggest maps in any FPS to date. We have been promised 64 people battles on vast areas of warfare, alongside friends and foes. We have been promised, dynamic gameplay, huge physics based environmental destructions and most importantly, Jets. We will get all of this on October 28, and be we i mean PC gamers.

Sadly with the evolution of hardware, consoles can't compete with PC's when it comes to raw power. For example: When Microsoft releases a new Xbox, it will be filled with some of the best hardware around, but seeing that it would be unwise to release a new Xbox every year, it will quickly be outdated by even better hardware.
But don't worry Battlefield 3 for consoles will have almost all of the features mentioned above only some minor cuts have been made.
Could you make yourself cut these graphics?

The console version won't feature 64 player map but instead only 24 players this is due to a cut in map size: simply the consoles won't be able to handle the scale of these maps, with all the destruction going on. So they have had to cut it down to size to ensure that the game will still be fun and energetic.
They could have cut some of the graphics, but it is a way too important aspect of this game.

Free Red Dead Redemption DLC coming this September

Myths and Mavericks is the name of the next, and probably last DLC coming to Red Dead Redemption

The update will add Characters and new Locations to Deathmatch, Grap the Bag, Gang matches and other online modes. The DLC will be completely free. Rockstar says that the DLC is a gift to all players for their frequent use of the game's online mode through out 2011.

Couple sells their children, to pay for video games

Li Lin and Li Juan, two Chinese parents with a gaming addition way too extreme.

The Chinese couple, who are both under 21, met at an internet café and have since continued to play video games such as World of Warcraft on different internet cafés. This has led to them being classified video game addicts. It has now reached a level of seriousness so great that they have sold all three of their children to be able to fund this hazardous habit. At first they sold their second child, a girl for 500$, but when cash came short, they proceded to sell their first born child, a boy, for 4.600$ and later on when they had yet another kid sold him for 4.600$.

Luckily the grandmother of the children turned them in. Yet they claim that they didn't know they were breaking any laws.

Guess IGN reward their readers after all :D

Sexy Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Characters

Tired of your old fat demonic looking Oblivion Wood-elves? Fear no more Skyrim is here with improved character design

It can be hard to accept that Oblivion was a flawed game, since it was so awesome and graphically extraordinary for it's time, but we've got to face it, the animations, the combat, the few voice actors and the insanely ugly residents of Cyrodill.

Luckily Bethesda rolled out the new "Creation Engine" which will make the next Elder Scrolls game even prettier.
Along with improved animations, 70 different voice actors and DRAGONS!

Yep November better start rolling around the corner, cause i'm having a hard time waiting any longer.

The Norway mass murderer used Modern Warfare 3 as "training"

The right-wing extremist Anders Behring Breivik's 1.500 pages long manifesto, is currently being read by law-enforcements. In it he mentiones his passion for video games in it he writes

"I just bought Modern Warfare 2, the game. It is probably the best military simulator
out there and it's one of the hottest games this year. I see MW2 more as a part of my
training-simulation than anything else. I've still learned to love it though and especially
the multiplayer part is amazing. You can more or less completely simulate actual
             operations."

He used other games such as wow as a cover up for why he had been isolated for such a long time, and didn't answer the phone

Pokémon coming to the iPhone and Android

Nintendo and Apple are finally gonna start working together

It's been confirmed that a Pokémon app will hit the Iphone and the Android devices, in the new feature. Although it's not a Pokémon game as we know it's still something. The game is called Pokémon Say Tap and will for now only be available in Japan. The objective of the game is to tap on Pokémon cards as they fly towards you in synch with the music. Much like Tap Tap Revenge, just with Pokémon songs instead.

Seeing that Nintendo hasn't released and games for other handheld devices than their own, makes you wonder why they would suddenly launch this game. On the other hand, the iPhone and Android app marked is booming right now, so it would be some easy cash for Nintendo. Whether or not we will se a full, classic Pokémon game for mobile phones, is unclear but it would be very handy to have the game with you at all times, since a Nintendo DS rarely leaves the house, despite how portable it might be.

Minecraft 1.8 Adventure Update

The next big update is right around the corner!

Notch recently posted a small update on his Tumblr, teasing some of the new gameplay features that are going to be implemented in the next big update. As it is well known 1.8 will focus mainly on exploration and combat henceforth the name.

At the moment we know for certain that the update will feature:

NPC Villages
Most certainly been added due to the huge success of the Millénaire Mod, which creates a village close to your spawn, and fills it with villagers that continue to collect resources and expand. These NPC's can be traded with to acquire rare items a whole lot easier, and coolest of it all: The recourses you donate/trade with them will help expand the city. Very cool!

A new Combat System
No one is really sure what this means but, notch did tweet something like

               - Theres no point in adding directional blocking if your enemies always attack the same way.
So i guess i'm going to have to add attack animations -

This sounds amazing, adding some more life to the fighting would make it a whole lot more exciting. And now that he is also adding critical hits, the before rather dull combat looks to be a whole lot more interesting.

Sprinting
Another very cool feature, maybe finally i can outrun those Creepers.

Randomly generated dungeons
This partially already exists, in the form of small rooms with a monster spawner and some chests with loot in them. But what Notch is talking about here is a whole lot cooler. We're talking high ceilings, lava pits, and he did mention bosses too.

Fully working Creative Mode
So apparently minecraft will be split into two different game modes: Survival- and Creative Mode.
By the looks of it this Survival Mode will be just like Minecraft is today: use tools to gather things and craft them. My guess is that Creative Mode will be much like the classic Minecraft, where every block can be destroyed with one punch and your inventory is filled with whatever blocks you want, for your unlimited creation of awesome

More farming options
Not much have been said about this feature, but it sounds immensely interesting. My guess is the addition of livestock. I heard something about animals not respawning, and therefor you would have to find cattle and drive them home so you could then mate them with one and other to continually get leather, pork chops and so on.

Some of the smaller things that's going to be added is:

  • Torches can now be placed on fences
  • Fences can now be placed on fences with out having to undergo various annoying tricks
  • Ruins will be generated around the world making you feel less alone

If you take a look at the Adventure Update image, you will see that the player is holding a torch that is emitting light as he is wielding it, this would be very useful, and also that he might be able to hold a torch in one hand and a sword in the other.

Ohh yeah and the Modding support is happening! I can't wait to get Mo' Creatures and Planes

Spotify hits the US

The popular UK service Spotify finally hits the US

It's been 2 years Spotify first launched in the UK, and now Americans can enjoy this free music streaming service aswel. But why should you be excited about Spotify when there are so many other music services such as: Pandora, Rapsody, MOG, Zune, iTunes, Amazon mp3 and Google Music?

Well first of all Spotify has three kinds of subscriptions: Free listen to 10 hours of music a month, Unlimited kinda explains it self, and finally Premium you can use the mobile phone app or you get to download the songs to your computer. And the best thing Premium is only 10$ (6.20£) a month.

A very cool service, unfortunately it hasn't been released in Denmark yet, so i'll just keep waiting.

YES!

Modern Warfare 3's Website links to Battlefield 3

Did EA go a bit too far, or was it just a fanboy?
By: Frederik

If you go to your browser and type www.modernwarfare3.com you might get quite the surprise.
Ever since EA announced Battlefield 3, they haven't been subtle about trying to bring down Modern Warfare, i mean Battlefield 3's lead designer literally said, that this game has been designed to outmatch Modern Warfare 3, but this is just a bit too much.

With the help of Googles cache of an earlier version on the site, Net Media Now found a video commentary of the MW3 trailer with the words:

          -   Modern Warfare is crap. On November 8, 2011, the most over-hyped first-person
action series of all-time returns with the copy and paste sequel to the lackluster Call of
Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Check out the E3 2011 gameplay demo featuring the Black
Tuesday level for a look at the epic fail of the campaign. Pre-Order Call of Duty MW3
Today for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC to secure exclusive bonuses only available online for
Modern Warfare 3 fanboys who don't know that Battlefield 3 is the better game. -

This is certainly not the words of a professional company like EA, but instead of a fan. As it seems this fan bought the Modern Warfare 3 domain name before Activision had the chance, very weird that he could do that since you would think Activision would buy every domain name from MW1-10 just to be safe.

Google Plus a serious Facebook killer?

Googles new Facebook killer, is in open BETA and i'm lucky enough to get a sneak peek
By: Frederik

What is it that makes Google + so much more appealing to me than Facebook?
After playing around with it for 20 minutes with my friend yesterday, we both agreed that more people should try this since it's so much better?

Well basically Google + is the outcome you would get if you took Facebook, mated it with Skype and sprinkled some magic Google dust onto it.
But seriously Google + is much like Facebook, it's got status updates, photo uploads, tagging and chatting. So what makes it so special? Let me tell you! Google + is a lot more personal than Facebook, because google added something they call Circles, these are like circles of trust, you can add people to different circles like: Family, School, Work, Acquaintances etc. These circles can be toggled when posting updates or uploading photos.
The design of Google + is simple, white and functioning, this is how a social networking page made by Apple would look like, streamlined and working!
Another feature is Hangout. Hangout is much like a live stream, but you can invite other people to join with video, or your friends can just watch and text chat in your hangout room. I don't really know who would use this feature, since there are certain "rules" of social networking, and turning on your webcam and inviting all your friends to watch you talk while they type just sounds kinda lame. It would be a nice way to video chat with multiple people since Skype charges for video chats with more than two people.

A really cool feature, one that i'm very excited about is googles +1 button. Here try it right now. If you clicked the link, look where is says "Blogger: Create your free blog" next to it you will see the button. If you have a google + account clicking this will add blogger to your +1 site, its much like the Facebook "like" button. People can then go to your Google + profile page and see what things on the internet you like (+1)

Whether Google + is going to be successful or not, i don't know. But i like the koncept of having one account (your google account) and being able to log in to your daily pages with that account. For me this means that when i open my browser i'm on googles homepage, here i can click one button and log into my gmail, if i go to Youtube, the same account is already logged in, this works for pictures and web searches too, and now even social networking.
